The last part of 2005 I was sick as a dog.. didn’t do much of anything except use a lot of Kleenex. Once I started to feel 60% better I played a little bit on FullTilt. Over two days I played a lot of good poker and some bad. Before I had enough hands to rate the players I was playing against in PokerTracker (not that I needed PT to get a feel on the peeps…. and I was on my mac, so no PT anyway), I left a $0.10/$0.25 table with four times what I entered with, really putting the Harrington Books to practice. I was feeling good. Later I entered a one table $5+0.50 sit and go. Now, as much as I hate to admit this, the first 5 times I played the $5+0.50 SnG on FullTilt, I came in either 9th or 8th place. On PokerStars I usually make the bubble. This time, I placed first(!!), overcoming my 1 to 3 chip deficit. When I had made the bubble, I was the short stack with around 1.5k in chips and the other two players really close with about 4k each.
Later on, when I was feeling a little adventurous, I sat down at the $.50/$1 tables and made a complete donkey out of myself. After I lost all of my buy in, I felt really shitty. But then I remembered in Vegas that I played the $2/$4 tables and did OK. I think for me the $0.50/$1 tables are still too much for me to get my mind around. It’s the same game as the micro limits, but the micro limits is where I feel comfortable. I think it had a lot to do with gambling that big of a chunk from my ultra small bankroll. So I chalked it up to experience and changed my background to a donkey.
My next post should be a list of Poker Goals for myself for 2006.
More Pro sightings on FTP. I watched Phil Ivey play at the $0.05/$0.10 tables, which is UBER cool of him. Also watched Paul Wolfe play at the $15/$30 tables.
Also, after waiting for 45 minutes, I got my chance to play with a pro on FTP. Steve Brecher was also at a $0.05/$0.10 table, also UBER COOL of him, and I played ok for a while, then donked off my $4.
