Ok.. so I took just about half my bankroll on PokerStars and I’m waiting to play a 180 player SnG. My very first, 180 player SnG. Lets live blog this adventure, shall we?

[2:47] 160 players registered.
[2:48] Tournament will start within 1 minute.
[2:49] Dealt A♣ J♠, raise 3x 2 callers, flop of 8♣ J♥ T♦, check, check, I bet half the pot, fold, fold. I collect the pot.
[2:53] Wow… 6 people out already, short stack of the tourny has 390. 174 players left.
[2:54] Dealt A♠ Q♠, raise 3x, 1 caller. Flop J♥ 3♣ A♣, I bet half the pot and its called. The Turn is 9♥, I bet half the pot and its called. River Q♥, I bet 3/4 the pot, which is not called. I win.
[3:02] Dealt A♣ K♣, raise 3x, 1 caller, who has a bigger stack than I do. Took down T2060, when the river brings me two pair and the other player folded to my T700 bet at the T2060 pot.
[3:08] 144 players left, I’m currently in 10th.
[3:15] I’ve been moved to a different table. Time passes.
[3:26] 116 players left, I’m in 20th place. T3755.
[3:32] 2 All ins. BOTH have KK. Split pot.
[3:40] My AQ would have taken two people out.. sigh.
[3:51] On the first break. I’ve got T3380, Average is 3253. 83 players left. I’m in 30th.
[4:01] Bing Blind Special. Nice.
[4:08] 68 Players left. I’ve got T4055, average is 3970, I’m in 27th.
[4:19] Out in 57th, when my triple 4’s get kicked in the junk by a flush completion on the river. At least I had my loot in with the best hand. Finished in the top 33%. Reward? I got nothin.
[5:23] After review in PokerTracker, after I called the All-In, I had a 81.82% of winning the hand. I was holding Q♥ 4♥, in the Big Blind. Flop came 2♦ 4♠ 8♠. I had middle pair, and bet out like I normally would, half the pot, or T500. My nemesis called as did one other player. The Turn was nice, 4♣. I bet out T1000, my nemesis pushed, the other player folded. My nemesis was UTG, so I didn’t have him on 35o, the only thing that would have really hurt was pocket 8’s, which could have been a possibility, as he limped in. A fluish draw was possible, but why bet All-In on a DRAW? If I would have folded after his re-raise All-In after I bet out T1000 into a T2500 pot, I would have been left with T1700 with blinds at 100/200, so I’d be crippled, but not out. The river was 9♠ and I was crushered. My nemesis had K♠ Q♠. Damn that 18.18%.

Would you have played the hand differently?

fin.
