After coming back from a 5:1 underdog, I had the ultimate suckout to take home first, when I should have taken home second.

I had just broke my opponent’s chip lead, when the following hand was played:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold’em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (2 handed) converter

BB (t7210)
Donkey (t7790)

Preflop: Donkey is Button with Q♦, 7♣.
Donkey raises to t1200, BB calls t600.

Flop: (t1850) 2♠, 8♦, 7♥ (2 players)
BB bets t5960 (All-In), Donkey calls t5960.

BB has Q♠ 8♥.
Donkey has Q♦ 7♣.

Crap. Well at least I have T630, with me being the BB next hand, which makes me pot committed. Sweet. I tell my opponent, ‘gg’. What were the odds that he did, in fact, hit the top pair? I would say very good, based on the all in bet. But I had second pair! (read: I’m a donkey!)

Turn: (t13770) 6♠ (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t13770) 7♦ (2 players, 1 all-in)

Holy Jebus wearing chaps so you can see his hairy ass. One of the only. two. cards. that could save me. I still should have lost.

Final Pot: t13770

BB has Q♠ 8♥ (two pair, eights and sevens).
Donkey has Q♦ 7♣ (three of a kind, sevens).

Outcome: Donkey wins t13770.
