So, I played in the WPBT WSOP Satellite #2, as I’m sure most of you reading this did. It was a complete blast. There were suckouts given and taken, hammers dropped, and prop bets. The tourney itself was seven players shy of being able to send two bloggers to a WSOP event, so Iggy, donated the $210 that was needed. How. Fucking. Cool. Check it out:

Since the event was on PokerStars and they do not have a Mac client, I had to remote connect to my PC through VNC and had some lag time, so sorry for the fellow WPBT’ers. I was really happy with my play. I think I play a lot better around the bloggers, which I can understand, but I just wish I could play at the level I play in the WPBT events ALL time time. It’s 100% mental.
The ‘last longer’ bet I had with Columbo was awesome. $2 to the winner. At the time we made the bet, I was in 6th place overall and he was in 8th. Columbo played really solid, constantly gaining chips, where I was all over the map, down 10k to Columbo, up 5k, down 4k. I didn’t sweat it when I was down, as I was determined to win the bet. The only problem was, so was Columbo. I think that $2 bet meant more to me than the seat to WSOP and I know that sounds strange, but I knew that if I did win the last longer bet, I would be in good shape to finished the tourney and go to the WSOP! Well, I was almost right. I was in last place after Columbo was taken out, and I sucked out against 55 on the flop with my AK, only to get resucked on the river when it brought out the fourth spade on the board, and I didn’t have a spade, but my opponent did. Feh.
I will win a seat to the WSOP. This. Year.
I’m also in the message board tournament for the All-In Poker Podcast on MySportsRadio.com, so if you listen to the podcast, yes that is me (and no, no one has asked if it was.. heh). I dropped the hammer today and phoned it in as a quick take, so hopefully the quick take will make it into next tuesday’s podcast.
