The last three days of poker have kicked me in the junk too many times to count… combine that with bad play and you have my week in poker. Six months of profit in cash games gone. Combine that with 6 months of tourney loses equals why bother? Why? Because sometimes it’s fun.
Just for fun, I played in a $1 tourney on PokerStars and busted out 87th out of close to 1550 players. The Mookie tonight, almost forgot about it, even though I registered earlier today. I knew there would be a few WPBT players and I wanted to have fun at the tables. Throught the game I had a descent chip stack and at times had the chip lead. That also means that I doubled up a lot of people as well. But it’s all part of the game. In the end, I was up against FishyMcDonk, down 1 to 3.5 in chips. The final hand, I raise about 3xBB and he calls. Flop looks good to me and I push. I get called. I go home in second. Somehow two pair is beat by a set. Go figure. Heh. Thanks to Mookie for hosting. Both tournaments I did rather well, the other eight, not so much.
The one thing that is painfully clear is that I’m a break even player (close enough) and I do not seem to want to move to the next level. I’m not a serious poker player, I mean I’ve only played 15 tournaments and 12 ring game sessions in the last 4 days. That’s four times the amount I usually do, only because the wife is out of town. I think it boils down to patience. Patience is something that I lack most of the time. Feh.. it is all for fun right?
The only thing I’m really looking forward to is the WPBT Winter Classic where I hope to do as well or better than this years Summer Classic.

Thank you. That was a hard call to make, did not put you on a set at all, but a possible flush. Your hand was definitely well hidden, just fortunate for me that I also hit a set.
