WSOP Freeroll Round One: Check!
Categories: WSOP, Freeroll, Full Tilt, PokerMan those Freerolls for the WSOP are crazy. I think I played 12 of them today (a mix of WSOP and Poker After Dark freerolls) just for the fun of it. LaParka has been doing really well in them, making many final tables, but never a first place finish. I think he’s told me that he’s placed second around 3 times?
I made past a few brakes, but usually busted out in the top 50%, some top 90%. I think it was the 8th one that I signed up for that I made the final table. I think it was the first time a final table on Full Tilt didn’t have the Final Table Background.
I sucked out on daveyboy52 to river my flush to his pair of tens on the flop.
Now to make the final table next weekend!

Awesome job!
The hardest thing about these is actually getting registered. Do you have a method to getting on them or just really fast fingers. Sometimes they are gone before they even show up on my screen.
And it was a pleasure playing with you on the bloggerpods2.
Thanks

Kajagugu, thanks! The bloggerpods2 was a great time, but I had hoped to do better. Ah, next time.
As for the freerolls, I missed registering in more than I actually got into. It’s a pain in the butt to register with a laptop trackpad. I got into more of the 650 ones than the 315(?) or 180’s thats for sure! I basically had the custom filter on to only show registering freerolls and tried to keep the mouse cursor on the full tilt lobby so when the tournament popped up I would summon fury fingers to register. You are correct, it IS difficult to get registered in them. The first hour and a half in each tourney is a pushfest, which is maddening and fun at the same time.

I found a bit of a workaround for this. I go to the SnG Satellite list and sort by number of players. This way as soon as these 315 or 630 hit they are listed somewhere at the top of the list. I then hold the right hand over the arrows and Enter key and figure out where the tourney lobby will open once I hit Enter. The left hand is over the Space bar and Enter key.
As soon as I see the tournament in the main lobby I quickly hit the arrows to get it highlighted, hit the Enter key, when the lobby opens my mouse cursor is right where the Register button shows up and I click the mouse button. Then with the left hand I quickly push the Space bar (highlights the radio button for “No Fee”) and hit Enter again to register. In the morning I can actually get into the 315s. In the evening only to the 630s.
It sucks.

Yeah.. it’s a pain to get into the freerolls.. Here’s my Custom Filter Settings with the Date Column sorted ascending..
This way the WSOP and Poker After Dark freerolls are the second item in the list.. usually a 45 player $1. + $.25 is listed at the top.
