I ordered Scott’s book, Pressure Poker: Poker Strategy and Tools to Improve Your Game, via BookSurge and aside from a shitty 2 week ship time, I (possibly) get my credit card and other personal information stolen.

Dear BookSurge Customer:
I am writing to let you know that we have learned that an unauthorized
individual may have gained access to files on a BookSurge server which
contained credit card and other account information from some BookSurge
customers.
We have no indication that your credit card or other account information
was compromised, but we wanted to notify you of this event out of an
abundance of caution.
I’d like to reassure you that we take the protection of data very
seriously and are committed to providing a safe and secure environment
for our customers and authors. We are taking additional security measures
to help prevent such an incident from happening again.
I apologize for any inconvenience this incident may cause you.
If you have any questions, please contact us by sending an email to
questions@BookSurge.com.
Sincerely,
Andrew Roskill
Managing Director
BookSurge
Funny thing is, the card that I used to buy the book was already flagged for fraud a few weeks ago, because ANOTHER retailer had shit for security. That’s three times in two years that some knucklehead chose profit over security. From now on, I will not help out the little guy and I will stick to the big named etailers, even if I hate them.
Seems like no one cares about security. Even Online Poker sites chose profit over security.
