First off… GFTS will be updated to fix the ‘gather info for running tournies’ today and… I will be at the WPBT Winter Classic!! Is it ok for a grown man to say “squeeee”? Oh who cares… SQUEEEEEEE!!

The down side is that I arrive the day or the tournament and leave the next night.. not the 4-5 days that I normally do… but 2 is better than 0 in this case….

• fix: Full Tilt changed the object of the Tournament Info button, this is now fixed.
• fix: Full Tilt changed the column numbering of the payouts window, this caused GFTS to not get the payouts for a tournament, now fixed
• LightCC made some requests for the auto export feature of GFTS, so now the Find Tourney Windows will also look up information about auto exporting tournaments. You can export all auto tournaments or all tournaments at any stage, running, completed.. it doesn’t matter!
• Added a remove button for the auto export list (requested by LightCC)

I’ve ditched gocr in favor of tesseract. I found a script that makes all of the image manipulation, OCR’ing and clean up a snap. All I had to do was modify the parameters for ImageMagick’s convert program to generate the best image possible.

For example, this:

To show why I ditched gocr, here is the output from the same command line switches to imagemagick but instead of writing to tesseract’s required tiff format, I used gocr favored pbm format.

While the spacing is correct, the quality is vastly different.

Now while the spacing isn’t PERFECT, the text, numbers and symbols ARE in this example, whereas FTOPS #3 shows FTOPS as F1~OPS as the F and T run together. Next step, update the tournaments with valid screen shots with the OCR’ed data. As a bonus, the start and end times will be 100% correct.

The first release of the Web Interface for Generate Full Tilt Summaries is now live at this location. You can use the search form on the page or if you know the tourney id that you are looking for you can use this URL formatting:

I have a basic caching system in use for the tournament summaries. I’m sure the load on my box is going to skyrocket if this gets heavy use. I have two boxes writing data to the database and this website reading from the same db. So if the load gets really high, I may have to introduce a tiered setup.

Here is a sample screen shot:

Most Tournaments will have the Full Tilt Client screen shot. Most of the earlier tournaments will not have them. Sometimes the FTC screen shot has another window blocking the full screen shot. It wont happen that often, but some of them will be mucked up. Suggestions? Please reply in the comments to this post.

Here is my short todo list:

1. If the FTC Screen Shot is available, OCR and update the Tourney name, start and end times.
   Right now, gocr is giving me hopeful results, but not perfect. Tourney 18468812 is ocr’ing to:

2. An offsite location to gather the tourney results. - this would be nice, but may never happen.
