a-Hoy matey!
Categories: MATH, Bloggers, Full Tilt, PokerWelp.. I should have owned tonight’s MATH, but I didn’t do any thinking on a major hand. Congrats to swimmom95. My only excuse is, they were soooted *. I got lucky a few times, won some races and played better than I have played in a very long time. I applied the GAP concept a few times, folded 99 and AJs to a raise - re-raise, where a week ago I would have called. Funny, after watching Phil Gordon’s Expert Insight - Final Table Poker DVD that I got a few WPBT gatherings ago, I’ve improved my game a bit. (That was not an ad, I actually watched the DVD yesterday on my iPod. Just for good measure, I’m going to do it again today.) I’m still very weak in the middle and end sections of tournaments, but when you are getting crap for hands, it’s hard to push or make a bet. I know I’m the only one that knows my hand is weak, but it’s that mental block that I need to overcome.
Earlier in the game, I was UTG+1 and folded another crap hand and told myself, “Self, next hand it doesn’t matter what you have, you are making a 3xbb bet.” When the hand was finished, I was dealt two cards and bet out 3xbb. It was folded around and I took the blinds. I was extremely proud of myself for sticking with the game plan for that hand. I had another one of the crap hands that I would have folded.
That’s two final tables since I started up the MFC tournaments. Well.. three if you count the first MFC that was a six-handed event.. lol. Oooh.. speaking of MFC….
